Bird Sketchbook Painting Acrylic

I was fooling around in my sketchbook again.  I am still looking for something to paint.  I have plenty of canvas ready, just no ideas.  Maybe I will get inspired with my daytrip to Racine, Wi.  I will be by the lake.

Sketchbook Sunflower

Trying to get back into the swing of painting.  What better place to paint than my sketchbook.  I am trying to get an idea for a large painting. I think I am getting close.  Any day now.  lol.

Enough blogging and more painting.  Maybe another post today of a sketchbook painting.

Another Self Portrait

The first picture is the underpainting. Burnt Sienna on canvas board.

The last photo is the completed painting.  I am not to happy with it. I am having a difficult time painting. I will probably try again soon. I just need to get out of the funk I am in.

Electric Skull Oil Painting

I had a few spare moments to paint last weekend.  Death was on my mind and I could not shake it.  Painting this skull helped me forget about the friend I lost.  RIP KRUL.

Yellow Flowers Acrylic Painting

I painted this on cardboard.  Five or Six coats of gesso on the front.  Two coats of Mod Podge on the back.  I used thick coats of paint on this one.  I tried to give the painting some texture.  I am pretty happy with this one.

Trying to think of my next subject.  I am a little distracted lately.  I hope to get back in the swing.

Seascape Watercolor painting

This is a recent watercolor painting I did while on vacation.  I did not want to bring any acrylic or oils on a plane, so I took my small watercolor set.  It was an overcast day so the colors are not so brilliant.  I painted this sitting on a balcony in Maui.  The sunsets were spectacular. Great vacation !!!!  Back to painting.  I am working on a acrylic right now, letting dry a bit.

DIY Pallet Wood Easel

I had some time to spend in the wood shop. I really wanted a large easel for larger works, so I made one.  Fortunatly I have a workshop and tools so this project was pretty easy.  Years of collecting pallet wood made it even easier.  I can't wait to use it.  Despite the easel being on the ground it is a table top.

I may try this project again.  I need to find a design I like.  If anybody has any questions on how I built this, please comment below.  Thanks.

Chalk Drawing on gray toned paper

Still in my sketchbook.  I really tried painting this weekend.  To much anxiety. I'll try again this week.
